WHEWWWWW… FINALLY, I GET TO WRITE THIS!
Where do I even start? It’s been a while. In fact, it’s been more than just a while- it’s been over TWO YEARS since I last wrote here, and I have missed this space so much.
For my new readers, welcome to Call Me Ajala, a space where I share stories about life, travels, experiences, and everything in between. If you’ve been here before, thank you for continuing with me!
I want to start by saying a BIG Happy New Year to you all! It feels great to be back.
Now, why did I stop writing? Life happened. Work, school and just the busyness of it all took over. But in the last few years, so much has happened that I want to share with you. For now, let me catch you up on some of the highlights:
I GRADUATED!
I completed my Master’s degree in Architecture and it was indeed a journey. Along the way, I worked on my final year project, which was a passion project for me. I researched and designed a project that aimed to address human rights violations and injustice happening around the world. It wasn’t easy and it took literal blood, sweat, and tears. Sleepless nights, inhaling chemicals, you name it. But I did it, and I’m so proud of how it turned out. Here’s a picture of the design:

What do you think? I am extremely impressed by it.
MUSIC IS LIFE!
I attended a few concerts along the way, and let me tell you, they were unforgettable. Among them were Adekunle Gold’s concert in 2022, Beyonce’s concert in Vancouver in 2023, and Johnny Drille live in 2024. Music is life, and those were experiences I’ll never forget.

What was one of the best concerts you’ve been to recently? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
TRAVEL DIARIES
On top of that, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places. In 2022, my friends and I had an unforgettable getaway to Kelowna in British Columbia. We had so much fun exploring and making memories together. I also had a chance to experience Vancouver twice with dear friends. I also visited other places and people from North America to Europe. (stay tuned for posts on these!)

LIVE PERFORMANCES GALORE
As a live theatre enthusiast, I saw some incredible live performances including Anastasia, Hamilton, Come From Away and Aladdin in theatre. I also saw Kevin Hart’s Reality Check live. I saw some smaller more niche plays in a local theatre as well. Some were amazing, and some were not my cup of tea.

Watching Hamilton in theatre was a major milestone for me. I’d seen it on TV, but nothing beats the live performance. The soundtrack even made my Spotify-wrapped top-5 list for 3 years in a row- my friends and family were definitely over it.
I GOT MARRIED!
And yes, I got married! I tied the knot with the lovely man I now call my husband last year, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. I looked beautiful, I felt beautiful and I was surrounded by so much love and support throughout that period. I’ll share more about the wedding in a future post (hint hint!).

So here I am, finally back to writing after a long break. There’s so much more I could say, but I’ll save some for later.
I want to know—what have YOU been up to in the last two years? Let’s catch up. I promise I won’t leave you hanging for so long next time.
Stay tuned and see you next time!
